Wow Housing Resources

Do you find yourself hopping wily nily from timeline to timeline, vendor to vendor for exciting new furniture bits?  Have you crawled up the path to the Crucible of the Storm Raid in Stormsong Valley with your sweetie so he can loot a votive candle rack for his house?

You've come to the right place.

Wow Housing Hub    https://housing.wowdb.com/

Look here for all decor items, for a list of vendors everywhere who sell decor, and house layouts you can get great ideas from.

Wowhead, always reliable for exploring all things Azerothian, has an overview, decor database, and a look into how everything works in detail.     https://www.wowhead.com/guide/systems/player-housing

The Wow Housing Reddit is a great place to see creativity and a community that shares generously.  I like finding places with a sheer love of the game.   https://www.reddit.com/r/WoWHousing/

The best communities are on Facebook. I have issues myself with Facebook, but these are real people, real joy and a kindness of spirit you don't always see in connection with World of Warcraft.   No links for these, sorry.

Try   Houses of Warcraft.  You can see the posts without joining the group.

Also Kordy's Wow Housing Guides lots of ideas and tips.

Featured today, the Grummlies have arrived in my neighborhood as the new Endeavor.  I can't say I love them, but I have had my main housing person killing dozens of Hozen in Pandaria.  I have sacks of coffee! Coffee cups! An embiggened coffee pot!

My house finally got to level 7!  Though it was midnight, I had to run home and try several layouts featuring new rooms, and basically a new wing of the house was in place because I'd been dying to add on.  All of this with just one level gain!  Two levels to go and I'll add rooms to my maze of adventurers curiosities.

I'll decorate it tomorrow, I said.  Then I moved all of my Mechagon stuff to a cozy room at the end of a hall.  It does include items from the dread Consortium Endeavor as well.

Next,  my overcrowded corner of the room Alchemy Lab got a new octagon room just on the other side of the Dark Portal. The Dark Portal was always going to be the entrance to the new area.

 The Alchemy Lab

It will take a long time for this whole wing to be tweaked, but the Alchemy lab is just as I'd like it to be.  Until I find more cool stuff.

Library Hall/Wing

I pulled all of my loose books from all over the house and am sorting them on the floor.  Part of me would like all the same bookcases through the area, more of me wants to show off the unique ones I have earned or created.

Bedroom in development

I sent a human to Stormwind to look at the vendor there who had much more reputation with Stormwind than the two Night Elves I had previously sent, doh.   A huge table now for more feasts.  I need more chairs.

 Thanks for stopping by!

We finally got 5 of us together to get my brother in law his home visiting quest credit.  It should have been easy but, of course that would be crazy.

My brother in law moved his house since I saw it last to a new neighborhood and changed the design completely.  He now has my sister as a neighbor. Isn't that sweet.  He did such a good job of creating a rambling house with a bridge on the second floor. He seemed to have most of the Mechagon decor, I'm so jealous.

Just as when I visited him last time, I was ready to re-design my Horde House, so I removed everything but the kitchen.  It now has cross shaped rooms, L Shaped Rooms, even an octagon room.

Floor one

 Floor 2

I put a tiny square room next to the bedroom and made the start of a proper bathroom for it.  Note I used a mechagon item that looks like a toilet for the...toilet.   Unbelievably, while I was taking a screenshot of my new bathroom I got a guild invite. WTF?  Timing city.  Declined.  Definitely enlarge for the guild name.

Last Chapter Notes 4 /8 /26

These notes can appear on any day but Saturday, is the beauty of it.

My brother in law invited me to visit his Wow house over the weekend.    It was easy to visit though I didn't have a character on his server. I created a level 1 character, had him invite me, voila, "View Homes" and I was in his yard in a trice.

You can't appreciate a place via screenshots as you can walking through someone's yard and house.  I got so many ideas, and asked for a screenshot of his layout.

I tried versions of that layout and some other things, and decided I'd like the bottom floor to be like my Alliance house in size.

Original Blood Elf  Kitchen, also known as the "first room".

I picked up every object in the house and removed every room I'd placed, then removed the first room so all I had was an entry.  Then, add a medium room, stone floors, and vault the ceiling...

Don't worry I've dyed the chairs all the same color.  Same room, but better!  This open airy room made me want to go ahead and add on to my Alliance house.  The first floor is the same layout but I've moved all of the bedroom furniture out.

Now there's a long hall with a view to the bedroom and beyond.

The bath area of the bedroom is nice I think.

I figured out how to get the Daylight Circle Room Placed (it's finicky as to where you place it). It's a big room with a dome of sky.  I have plans to make paths that lead to the tree, and I'll fill the center of the room with an obscuring garden of sorts.

At the tree, some sort of cool area, perhaps with a tree house.  Lots to do everywhere now.   I'm back decor treasure hunting again now that I have lots more space.

Here's a video of another player's Daylight Circle Room so you can get an idea of the possibilities.

 Harried in Harandar

My main character Atherne has finished most of Harandar.   I've sent her onward to do Arator's Journey, but will return to finish all the things at some point.  Harandar is a lush, pretty zone.

 With odd creatures.

And a number of painting puzzles.

Getting to level 90 opened the Arcantina. It's a big cozy bar with occasional quests given by easily recognizable NPCs  from your many years of playing in Azeroth.  These quests appear to be all set in parts of the old world, and the NPC opens a portal to get you there immediately.

 The Arcantina

Atherne's next stop is Zul'Aman, as you have to complete every zone before getting to the Void Storm.  Of keen interest here is an old friend in a snazzy new suit.  Check out the zipper in the back and the little hearts.  Sooo cute.

My Blood Elf house is moving along.  Now that I have tons of space, I need to buy lots of furniture and rugs and paintings, and I finally brought out my dye kits.  I'm going to make her a set of plushies.

I went with the Left Stairwell room, which gives you not only a staircase to climb, but you see it as soon as you look in the stairwell room, which is also the library.  Everything is a work in progress.

Landing

Here's the top of the stairs, a substantial area for hanging paintings, and making into an office or just a living room type area.  Possibilities.

I don't see people including hallways in their floor plans much, but it's another great place for displaying paintings.

And here's the bedroom.  Needs lots of work.  I've left one wall open where I hope to add one more hall, then a large room that can feature alchemy, engineering, and other craft areas.  I'm going to work on what I've got here first, as the Alliance house is next up for a remodel now I see how it works.

Last Chapter Notes 3/24/26

Even I didn't like the Meandering Monday post title, so my Monday posts will now be Last Chapter Notes, which won out over my other ideas: Scribbles from Azeroth and The Azerothian Scribbler.  The Last Chapter is the Blackwater Raider's Guilds guild name.

I wrote most of my post for yesterday in a notebook, it simply didn't make it to the post page.

Harandir

First, and most exciting, once my druid in Harandar got a few pieces of gear from questing, I finished the Harandar Campaign really quickly, almost without paying attention.  This earned me the ability to make a Harandir character.   I'm not a fan of markings and tattoos, and I normally don't use them at all for characters. She wasn't quite right without some, so here she is.  You can change the fur coloring of the Feral form a bit, not as much as I'd like though.

There's a portal now in Silvermoon for coming and going to Harandar.  I plan to finish everything in the zone before switching to Zul'Aman for my main character.   While all of the verticality of Harandar can be frustrating, something I do like about Harandar is there are so many decor quest rewards.  Fun ones, right away.

Home Sweet Home

Though I have lots of interior items I can still display, and not be near the limit, I've reached the set in stone limit of 250 placements for the outside.    There aren't 250 items on my lot, as some things "cost" one item placement space, and some things five (or more, I haven't researched how they're counting).

I don't want to change a single thing in my yard, but I have more I want to add, like a gryphon's roost, complete with roosting gryphon on it that would be pretty great looking out over the bay.

I wish I understood the tech behind these things.  The neighborhood itself is it's own instance, correct?  Inside your house is it's own instance?  But your yard contents create some mighty weight on the server load?  Pfft.  Make the larger items count as one, give the player a true 250 items.  Solve the load issues later.

Crafty

I've always used Wow Professions  as my guide for leveling crafting.  I noticed in the War Within when I actually tried to learn the system that they, and Wowhead, only take you to 60, they then flap their hands and say there are too many choices after 60 and you'll have to figure it out.

That's not helpful.

I found Methodgg  as a really well done source for seeing the choices, picking the recipes to learn in order, and guiding through options for assigning Knowledge Points.   To 100.

Even so, my main Leatherworker is an Assassination Rogue, and I've had trouble with her in fights with multiple attackers.    In order to advance in Leatherworking, I needed many more Void -Tempered Scales than I'm finding. In fact I've gotten none in Zul'Aman.   Enter my Level 80 Hunter, whom I sent through the opening sequences and she had the easiest time of anyone getting through.   Off to Silvermoon to grab Midnight Leatherworking and Skinning, then Sunstrider Isle and its Mana Wyrm population.  A Hunter is so much quicker in a fight, and within an hour I had 100 Void-Tempered Scales for the Rogue.

Another reason to move the Hunter forward is for potential fun Hunter Pets.  Alas, the Mammoths are not tameable.  Why put something so adorable in the game and not let you have one of your very own?

Character Name Generators

Killed off dozens of characters lately and need some new ideas for their replacements?  Here you go! I've been using this quite a bit. ...
